Workshop on dealing with emotions
The Parent-Child Forum offers a workshop for parents on the topic of ‘Dealing with Emotions’ for parents of children aged 5 to puberty. The two-hour workshop covers various topics related to dealing with and understanding emotions.
All people around the world have the same basic emotions: joy, surprise, anger, sadness, fear and disgust. Our inner emotional world is intense and diverse.
Adults have learned to show their feelings appropriately to the outside world. Our children often do not yet manage this so well. They act impulsively and not always in a manner appropriate to the social context. But as parents, we can support our children in developing a healthy way of dealing with their feelings.
In this workshop, you will learn...
... the difference between emotions and feelings
.... why your child perceives their feelings so intensely.
... how you can best support your child in perceiving, naming and interpreting their feelings
.... how to teach your child strategies for regulating their emotions
.... how you can intensify and control your own feelings.
